Description
This cello originates from the Leonhardt Workshop, originally founded by Anton Dietl, who was succeeded by his son-in-law Wilfried Leonhardt. Leonhardt, the maker of this instrument, is a luthier from the Bavarian town of Mittenwald. This town has been considered one of the centers of violin making in Germany due to being conductive as a trade center and the availability of trees that provide fantastic tonewood. Leonhardt was trained by his father, Fritz Leonhardt who was also a maker in Mittenwald. This is an excellent instrument for an advancing player. Circa 1970s.
