Description
Born in 1946, Robert Benedetto is a highly regarded American luthier, primarily known for his archtop guitars which are used by some of the finest jazz players worldwide. In 1968 he handmade his first, and in 1976, he relocated to Clearwater, Florida. In 1983, he made his first violins for both jazz and orchestral artists, endorsed by well known players such as Stephane Grappelli. In total he made 45 violins, and 5 violas.
This violin shows great skill in woodworking, with extremely clean handwork, and fine application of varnish.
