Raffaele Vaccari

Vintage violin by Italian maker Raffaele Vaccari.

Raffaele Vaccari was born in Parma, 1908 to a musical family. Raffaele started his career as a self taught luthier and eventually started an apprenticeship with Amedeo Simonazzi in Novellara. In 1930 he joined the violin making school in parma, under the guidance of Gaetano Sgarbotto. Vaccari had a very productive life creating over 300 violins and violas, all of which were handcrafted with great precision. This violin made in 1960 has a glowing red varnish with exceptionally clean handwork.
