A beautiful antique violin made by the master John Juzek. Handmade in Prague, Czechoslovakia, and hand dated inside “May 2nd, 1910,” with the signature of John Juzek. Excellent choice wood selection creates the gorgeous one-piece back. The sound quality can be characterized by a powerful, clean tone. This violin is in very good state of preservation. The instrument does show normal signs of use, however there have been no damages and no repairs.
John Juzek- Pisek, Czech Republic was a Czechoslovakian merchant and a violin maker. He worked in Prague in the 1900’s and exported many violins across the world, mostly to North America. His instruments are frequently copied by smaller German makers.
His violins are often described as a Guarneri with a Stradivari scroll. Often being praised as the highest quality of the Czech instruments, they possess a pleasing, sought-after tone.
