Nice handmade cello from the shop of John Juzek. Circa 1920s. John Juzek was a Czechoslovakian merchant and a violin maker. He worked in Prague in the 1900’s and exported many instruments across the world, mostly to North America. His instruments are frequently copied by smaller German makers.
His instruments are often described as a Guarneri with a Stradivari scroll. Often being praised as the highest quality of the Czech instruments, they possess a pleasing, sought-after tone.
