Description
Johann George Lippold was a Markneukirchen based master maker, born in 1739 and was considered to be the best of the family of makers. His instruments commonly had a distinct yellow-brown or cherry-brown varnish, which was believed to be superior to any of his contemporaries. Died 1824. This viola has a back length of 400mm (full size). This viola has an exquisite tone and is a pleasure to play.
