Description
Dudley B. Reed was born in Palmer, Ohio in 1900, and started handmaking violins part-time in 1922. Pupil of Carl Hildebrand. After a lifetime of various occupations, he settled down in Gainesville in 1953, where he worked until 1971. Often made Stradivari pattern violins with a dark reddish-brown varnish.
