Description
Antique Italian handmade violin labelled Balestrieri made in Mantua possibly by Tommaso Balestrieri in the mid-to-late 18th century. It was dated to approx 1780 by Violin Dendrochronology Laboratory. Balestrieri registered as a violin maker in 1758 and followed Camillo Camilli as the main violin maker in Mantua. Balestrieri ranks among the finest of Mantua’s classical violin luthiers.
