Son of Raffaele, Giuseppe Fiorini (B. 1861) was one the most important violin makers. Giuseppe trained under his father, making his first violin in Bologna at the age of 16, and established his own business in 1885. In 1888 Giuseppe traveled to Munich where he established a partnership with Andreas Rieger, forming the Rieger and Fiorini firm which lasted until Rieger’s retirement in 1896. From 1915-1923, Fiorini resided in Zurich, and ultimately returned to Italy in 1923, where he settled in Rome.
