Description
Oswald Schaller was born in 1857. He was trained to repair and make violins by his father and is a great-grandson of Friedrich August Glaesel. Schaller first worked for Louis Otto in Düsseldorf and later established himself in Frankfurt. His violins are crafted following Cremonese Italian models and are coated in a self made transparent oil varnish that is usually reddish yellow or mahogany colored. This viola is 15 1/4″
