Description
Jean-Baptiste Chipot-Vuillaume was born in France in 1847. Originally he studied under Honoré Derazey, where he learned his craft. He was later employed by the Collin-Mezin shop where he continued to hone his skills. He later opened his own workshop where he employed many assistants. In 1870 He married Stella Vuillaume, and began crafting violins under the name Chipot-Vuillaume. He continued to make many fine instruments until his death in 1892. His workshop continued to operate under Charles Drouin.
