Description
This violin was made in Naples, Italy in 1870 and is from the workshop of Vincenzo Postiglione. Postiglione was born in Naples in 1831 where he lived until his death in 1916. He initially studied under Vincenzo Lorio but branched off in 1855 to establish himself as an independent maker. Postiglione is considered one of the finest makers of the Neopolitan era and his instruments are still regarded highly today for their beauty, workmanship and tone. This violin has excellent playability with a refined tone.
