Description
Born in 1690, Johann Christoph Leidolf was a vienese master maker who likely studied under his father, Nicholas Leidolf. Judging by surviving records, Leidolf established a very successful and efficient shop, employed many apprentices and journeymen, and worked up the the year of his death.The reuptation of the Leifolf shop maintained a good name years after his death in 1758. This cello pllays with a sweet, sonorous upper register, and a deep and rich lower.
